Mount Elbrus Tour

Mount Elbrus is the highest peak in Europe, one of the Seven Summits and also the Volcanic Seven Summits. There are several routes for climbing Mount Elbrus, such as, the North, the East or the West, However, climbing from the South side (standard route) is the easiest and shortest to the Top of Europe. Mount Elbrus has 2 summits, the western summit (5642m) is higher than the eastern summit (5621m). Best time to climb Mount Elbrus is between June and September
Brief Itinerary
Day 1: Mineralnye Vody Airport and transfer to Terskol
– Meet our guide at Mineralnye Vody Airport (MRV) depending on your time of arrival
– Transfer to our hotel in Terskol (180km, 4 hrs drive). Check-in and have some rest
– On the evening, our guide will give a program briefing and do a final equipment checkup
– Overnight in Hotel (Terskol)
Day 2: Acclimatization Day
– To help your body adapt properly to the altitude, after breakfast, we will take a packed lunch and hike to Mount Cheget 3000m (5hrs)
– We will have our lunch at the top of Mount Cheget with the panoramic view of Mount Elbrus and the Baksan valley.
– Free time on the afternoon
– Overnight in Hotel (Terskol)
Day 3: Transfer to the Cable Car and Mountain Hut
– After breakfast, transfer to the cable car Azau station and ascend to Garabashi station (3870m)
– Check in at our Mountain Hut / The Refuge at 3900m
– Acclimaztization Hike to Priutt 11 at 4100m and descend back to our hut
– Overnight in Mountain Hut
Day 4: Acclimatization
– To help your body adapt properly to the altitude, after breakfast, we will take a packed lunch and hike to Pastukhov Rocks at 4700m
– Descend back to our hut
– Overnight in Mountain Hut
Day 5: Rest Day
– After breakfast, We will train and practice necessary mountaineering skills such as, rope work, ice axes arrest, crampons walk, etc. on the glaciers
– Have early dinner and prepare for the summit push
– Overnight in Mountain Hut
Day 6: Summit Push and back to Mountain Hut
– Have early breakfast and start at 1AM, we will start ascending to Pastukhov Rocks and have some rest and refill our energy
– Continue to the Saddle and ascend toward the summit, above the Saddle is more difficult part which may required fixed ropes.
– At the end of the fixed ropes, you will find a high plateau and continue to the summit of Elbrus.
– At the summit of Elbrus 5642m, we will be stunning by the view of Caucasus mountains, taking pictures, refill our energy, and descend to our Mountain Hut
– Overnight in Mountain Hut
Day 7: Extra day in case of bad weather
– Descend to the Cable Car Station and transfer to the hotel.
– Rest and refresh ourselves. Have a celebratory dinner.
– If you use this extra day on Elbrus, extra charge for Mountain Hut is required
– Overnight in Hotel (Terskol)
Day 8: Explore Baksan Valley
– After breakfast, we will have a short hike in Baksan Valley.
– Taking pictures, enjoy the beautiful volcanic landscape around Mount Elbrus
– Overnight in Hotel (Terskol)
Day 9: Transfer to Airport
– After breakfast, transfer to Mineralnye Vody airport
– Say goodbye to our guide and bring wonderful memories home
- All transportations from and to Mineralnye Vody airport
- All transportations from Mineralnye Vody airport to Terskol - Azau Station and back
- 4 nights with breakfast in a hotel in Terskol (twin-sharing room)
- 4 nights in Mountain Hut Tent at Betlemi hut with breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- English speaking professional mountain guide and assistant guide (depends on number of clients), and a cook on a mountain hut
